1. Unlike the Campbell Cousins Reunions, which were open to anyone and at their peak had 200 - 300 attendees, the Campbell Cousins Dinners were by invitation only. They were intended for the 30 first cousins (grandchildren of Joseph and Ann Clinch Campbell) and for others invited by the hosting couple of that year. All 30 were born in or near Nelson, Tioga Co., PA and had all at least laid eyes on each other before some moved to other parts of the country. Most stayed in touch and those in Tioga Co. and adjacent Steuben and Chemung Counties were close emotionally, as well as geographically. In their later years, as death thinned their ranks, they included the next generation in the dinners, but by then the families had scattered all over the country, the second cousins didn't know each other well, and the Cousins Dinners came to an end..
